The Dehati Foundation

Our goal is to reconnect individuals with their roots and experience the dignity, joy, and simplicity of living—free from hierarchy and discrimination. The Dehati Fest stands as a bridge between the soil and the soul.

For basic amenities—schools, colleges, hospitals—we moved to cities. Slowly, we left behind the struggle of the city for its glamour, forgetting the foundational role of the village. In this modern life, the utility of the village is being lost. “What is there in the village?” has become the defining question.

Employment drives migration, but now, even village entertainment is migrating. Plays, Ramlila, and poetry gatherings (Kavi Sammelans) have vanished. We must speak of the village’s utility from every stage, or the day is not far when villages will turn into cities.

“Art is the medium that can bridge this distance.”
